The Birmingham OCDS community is blessed to live its Carmelite vocation within the Diocese of Birmingham in Alabama. United with our bishop, clergy, and parish communities, we seek to serve the local Church through prayer, formation, and the spirituality of Teresa of Avila and John of the Cross.
The Semi-Province has jurisdiction over OCDS members living in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Texas.
The Birmingham OCDS community is a family of lay faithful who are called to live the spirituality of Carmel in the midst of everyday life. Through prayer, ongoing formation, and fraternity, we strive to deepen our fai, following the example and teachings of Teresa of Avila, John of the Cross.
